THE WIRED LAB is an artist led organisation evolving interdisciplinary art practices in rural Australia. We create opportunities for the research, production and presentation of projects that connect international and local artists with communities in new ways. Our curated programs and projects involve artists working from a regional context whilst producing outcomes of local and global relevance. Our activities range from skills development for young people, seniors, emerging and mid career artists, to the creation, presentation, publication and promotion of new works and major live arts projects.

2020 WIRED OPEN LABS

WOL2020Coverimage

Now in its fourth year the 2020 WIRED OPEN LABS workshop series continues to engage outstanding Australian artists and artisans.

We are excited to present thirty-seven workshops in partnership with seven rural communities across Eastern Riverina, South West Slopes and Canberra Regions.

When you book places in our workshop program you are also supporting artists while contributing to the small businesses and communities we partner with.

*** COVID-19 UPDATE ***

While our workshops are planned to resume from August, we understand the COVID-19 situation is evolving rapidly and it is difficult to make solid plans in such an environment (like planning travel, booking a workshop with us etc).  The Wired Lab prioritises the health and safety of our staff and workshop participants, and this informs all of our decision making. We have a COVIDSafe plan and have secured venues that allow us to meet current NSW Government social distancing requirements. As you all know the coming weeks in NSW are critical to minimising an increase in Covid-19 cases, because of this we postponed our Cyanotype and Gum-Bichromate Photography workshops on the 1st and 2nd August. But don’t worry! We have plans to present these popular workshops in October.

As government advice changes, we will continue to amend our workshop plans accordingly. Should you feel in any way uneasy about attending a workshop you have booked or are thinking about booking, rest assured we will accommodate you with a transfer to another workshop later in the year or a credit to use at your leisure or a full refund. If we need to postpone any further workshops on August workshops, those with bookings will also be offered these options.

We’ve been so heartened by the enthusiastic support we’ve received for our planned resumption of workshops, and we, like you, are very much looking forward to flexing our creative muscles again. We are all in this together, thank you.
